Military Health Plans
Veterans, military retirees, active-duty service members, and their families may be eligible for speech, language, hearing, or swallowing services through TRICARE or the VA.
TRICARE – U.S. Department of Defense Military Health System
TRICARE provides health coverage for eligible service members, retirees, and their families. If you're eligible, TRICARE covers all medically necessary services and supplies—including speech-language and audiology care.

U.S. Veterans Administration (VA)
The VA system's national audiology and speech-language pathology services provide high-quality, comprehensive, state-of-the-art clinical services to veterans with:
- Hearing loss and hearing disorders
- Speech and language difficulties
- Voice disorders
- Swallowing disorders
If you’re not sure whether you qualify for VA health benefits:
- Call your local Veterans Benefits counselor (check your local directory).
